Favorite places to eat in Salt Lake City-

La Puente- To die for smothered burritos w/cheese (We LOVE the location on State street)
B and D burgers- Good burgers, great gyros plus THICK wonderful shakes
The Dodo- Good food BUT fantastic fresh baked desserts
The Pagoda- Japanese cuisine- Try the chicken tatsutage
Millies Burgers- Good fresh burgers, hand-dipped cones- family friendly prices
Gourmandies*The bakery*- Supurb hot chocolate. Everything in this place is delectable!
Himalayan Kitchen- The best Indian food in Utah. The Butter chicken, Malai Kofta, Lamb Boti Kabob, and Chicken Tikka Masala are so good. I haven't tried anything I don't love here. The cheese Naan is to die for. They also have this amazing mint dipping sauce that is perfect for the Lamb, be sure to ask for it! It is a little on the pricy side, but I haven't found any cheaper (or better) Indian restaurant and it is oh-so-worth it!
Favorite places to play in Salt Lake City-
Hogle Zoo- This is a great zoo that is working hard on improving animal habitats. It is wonderful because it is just the right size. You can walk it and see everything in a couple hours but it isn't so small you get bored. Be sure to check out the bird show in the summertime, it is amazing!
This is the Place Heritage Park- This is a fun pioneer village. It has some original homes as well as replicas. This represents a big part of Utah history and, despite popular belief, is not owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (aka...the mormons) This is a very hands on park with animals to pet, horse rides, carriage rides, train rides, and pioneer crafts for the kids to do.
Lagoon- A small but fun amusement park. It has enough fun rides for small kids as well as all us big kids. (Even those of us that are only kids at heart at this point) They also have a small "zoo" that you can see if you go on their train ride, a small western/pioneer village, a water park, and of course carnival type games.
