Spring break has come and gone, it always goes by far too fast. This year we took a road trip to Seattle. Since everyone is asking why we went to Seattle I will post it here cause I'm done explaining. First I have to ask, where is everyone's sense of adventure? Why does there have to be a real reason to visit a place? That being said, here are my reasons for going to Seattle.
1. I love the rain! You should not underestimate my love for rain. Granted, I enjoy warm rain more than cold rain but I will take it in any form. Since I love rain I thought Seattle a great location for a vacation. Let me just say that I must have gone on a "good" week because there really wasn't that much rain.
2. I wanted to. Plain and simple, I wanted to. Seattle captured my interest at some point in my life, probably after watching Sleepless in Seattle :), and I have always wanted to visit.
3. I traded my Mom a bike for some timeshare points and was able to get a condo in downtown Seattle absolutely free. (I mean it cost me a bike but obviously I didn't want the bike at that point anyhow.)
4. There was a bike store there that I really wanted to see. I know that sounds like an odd thing to want to do but these bikes are amazing. You can only get them a few places in the US so naturally I had to at least go and try them out! Check them out here http://www.dutchbikeseattle.com/
It was one of the highlights of my trip. Of course I didn't buy one, but it was fulfilling just to ride them. Dave, the bike guy, was extremely nice and tolerant considering the fact that he knew I wasn't planning on buying. He was also kind enough to give us some ideas of other things to see in Seattle. (As though seeing the bikes weren't enough!) :)
So that about covers it. We did get a chance to visit Lars' sister when we were there as she recently moved to Mukliteo, about 20 minutes out of Seattle. It was fun to see them but they were not the reason for our trip. My trip was planned before they moved there, sorry Jones family, we loved seeing you though!
I wish I had limitless supplies of money so that I could go more places just because. The world is meant to be seen, if only it was cheaper.
I to have always wanted to go to Seattle ever since I saw Sleepless in Seattle. Love that movie.
